“Eat More Veggies” and “Reduce Screen Time” are the main themes of the “StartSmart@school.hk” Campaign in the school year 2025/26. To echo these themes, we have prepared the “Little Healthy Fighter’s Healthy Living Logbook” and the “Certificate Printing Programme (Website)”. Teachers can print out the certificates through the programme, and give them to young children as appreciation.
Suggestions for award of certificates Challenge 1: : “Give them more veggies” “Give them more veggies” is a four-week task. To start off, parents set the healthy target of giving each of their young children at least 1.5 servings of veggies (1 serving is approximately equal to 1 bowl of uncooked or ½ bowl of cooked gourds and vegetables) each day. When the young child has met this target on a single day, he/she can get a “veggie” sticker Challenge 2: “Make them reduce screen time” “Make them reduce screen time” is a four-week task. To start off, parents need to instruct their young children to colour a suitable portion of the white spaces to record their screen time in the logbook. If they start to colour into the red tips, that means they are having too much screen time! If the young child can limit his/her screen time within 1 hour every day for 7 consecutive days, their teacher will give him/her a “Little Healthy Fighter” sticker |
